What a Privilege it is…

To be a white person in 2025

2025 is such a prolific example of white privilege, let me explain:

Millions of white people continue to say, “I can’t believe this is happening. This isn’t us. How did we get here?!” as we see all this shit unfold in real time.

Meanwhile, specifically so many people in the Black community have been screaming “this is who white america has always been”…for centuries.

For white people to not have any clue regarding how heinous and violent this country is until 2025…

Can you see the privilege so blatantly clear that is coming through?!

This is our reckoning as white people.

Cause it’s truly been this bad and a lot of white people are now understanding we participated (and continue to participate in it) and did nothing to stop it.

This is where the freeze response comes in.

This is where the apathy comes in.

Meanwhile, the system continues to destroy Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, immigrant families…the list goes on.

So then white people want to return to comfort, but now the duality is the understanding if we do that, more violence will continue and now we’re consciously aware of it and are still doing nothing to stop it, so then maintaining our comfort = violence.
